When we learned that Natalie, (one of our own!) was getting hitched, we were completely overjoyed! We couldn’t wait to get to wedding planning!

We thought it would be best to let the Natalie share her thoughts on the experience!

“We picked the venue because it reminded us of our apartments in New Brunswick – full of character, old wood floors, exposed brick. The roof top patio was a great feature too! We picked September 24th as our date because we wanted something in the fall, but not too deep into the cold weather that we couldn’t enjoy some sunshine. We also wanted the date to fall in line with the Blue Jays home schedule because we thought it would be fun to take our wedding party and close friends to a game the following day (we went in our dress and suit).

We got engaged while vacationing in Ireland and bought two personalized bottles of Jameson whiskey that we saved for our wedding day to use in our ceremony and share with our head table.

My favourite colour is purple, and my Nonna had given me a vintage piece of sage green luggage that I wanted to use as our gift box. I loved the idea of the two together, and after consulting with my then-fiance they were chosen as our wedding colours. The rest of the décor matched the theme of the venue and colour scheme – rustic and vintage. We had purple and clear mason jars for our centre pieces, vintage key bottle openers as our favours, and vintage luggage pieces for our gift table. I also incorporated my love of Harry Potter into items of mine – my bouquet included 12 roses made out of Harry Potter book pages (Stephen had a matching boutonniere), my shoes were custom painted with the Gryffindor & Slytherin house crests, and our seating chart was hand lettered onto a huge mirror like the Mirror of Erised.

Lauren helped me plan the menu. We chose items that would appeal to everyone (jerk prawns, lamb meatball, pork belly, spring rolls) and that would be easy for our team to execute. I had to include gnocchi on the menu, as well as our braised beef – both are to die for! We went the route of a dessert table instead of a plated dessert, so that there would be something for everyone!

While Lauren helped with the menu, Anna and Carolee in the office helped me plan absolutely everything! On the day of, Anna, Vanessa and Carolee were on-site setting up and making sure everything was perfect – I knew I didn’t have to worry. Our whole service team was elle’s and they were incredible. We truly felt taken care of, and for me it was nice to feel like a client!”

We could NOT be happier for Natalie and Stephen and we wish them all the health, wealth and happiness this world has to offer. CHEERS TO THE HAPPY COUPLE!
